The MEDA handheld AC field instrument uses an induction coil with a ferromagnetic core to sense the magnetic fields produced by alternating electric currents. The sensor probe is separate from the signal conditioning electronics, allowing the operator to point the probe in any direction with one hand while comfortably reading the meter in the other hand.

MEDA offers one handheld AC field instrument: the model 8532

  • Resolution: 0.01 milligauss (mG).

  • Ranges: 2000, 200 and 20 mG.

  • Accuracy: 1% traceable to NIST (at 60 Hz; 50Hz optional).

  • Analog Outputs: The RMS value of the field and a 12 Hz to 50 kHz bandwidth instantaneous output.

  • Display: 3 1/2 digit LCD.
